So Should I let my 12yr ds go paintballing with his friends (no adults) at the weekend?

My 12 year ols ds wants to go paintballing at a venue in the next village with a whole gang of his friends from school, (who I have never met). Costs £35 per head. He has enough money of his own and really wants to go. He tells me there is insurance included in the cost. Should I be delighted that he has a social life and be impressed with their organisational skills, or should I be worried and put my foot down and tell him he can't go? (obviously this will not be a welcome outcome!) any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

That's really tough and since I'm about 8 years away from that I really can't offer any useful advice

Can you go along but promise you won't go in to the actual paint balling and that you categorically will not embarrass him?

I'd let my 12yo go, assuming there would be staff members around to make sure they were all safe and sticking to the rules.
Those paintballs can really hurt!
