Hello All,

I really need some advice on what potty training tips have worked for you. I know every bub is different and progresses at their own rate, but so far my 2yr 4mth old daughter is refusing to go in/on anything except for her trusty nappies !

She knows when shes been to the loo and often tells me - and hates to wear a dirty nappy , however when given an alturnative she calms up and refuses to try anything new ! Any advice/experiences/tips/mistakes welcome ! Many thanks!

Let her choose some pants that she likes. The arrival of fireman sam pants in our house has heralded a new found enthusiasm in DS. (He's a bit too keen now - refusing to wear nappies at all!)

she is quite little too

She is still little ! But the problem I've got is for some reson she is very neat and clean in all other repects and hates to be messy ! God knows why and I'm proberly the last person to worry about mess ! She hates to be in a dirty nappy, but refuses not to wear one ! Perhaps the mistake i've made is changing her nappy so often she never feels uncomfy. Tried her in knickers with her fave cartoon charters on the front but no joy. She just has an accident in them and then gets very upset ! Maybe im trying to get her clean before shes ready.

perhaps try making naked time after her bath, or before she gets dressed in the mornings. whatever fits in with your day and her best mood time of day. make a game of chase or whatver to try and encourage her to not get dressed for a short while ( perhaps change her nappy having forgotten to get a clean nappy from a diff room, then go on a hunt for the nappy with her and her bare bum!). she may get used to no nappy that way. increase the time slowly until she will happily not wear a nappy for a bit (be prepared for mess). just too get her to relax with no nappy on. then try the potty again.
i'd prob leave potty out so she can see it but dont ask do you want potty etc just while she gets used to having no nappy on

may not work, but could be worth a try
