When did you go up to size 3 nappies?

I really struggle to know when to go up a size in nappies. My baby is 19 weeks and small in size (4.75kg). What weight was your baby when you went up to size 3 nappies. She was starting to leak with size 2 and I've been using size 3 for a day now but they seem huge! No leakages yet though

We went off practice not weight. In fact baby went up to next size often before reached the minimum weight it said on the pack because was peeing out of the size below.

If you get leaks with size below but not new size then new size clearly works best.

I can’t remember exactly, but every baby falls into a different percentile, so it really depends. Check the packaging—it should list the weight range for each size. My 13-month-old is still in size 3 (I think it goes up to 9kg) as he’s in a low centile.

We went up at 7 weeks and ~5kg. He can pee for England and hates the weight of wet nappy resting on his penis. He would cry if he only peed a little bit so we were changing him every 10 minutes. He's a much happier baby in size 3! They're a bit loose round the waist but the vests keep them on

Super quickly. But DD is a chunk and the smaller nappies were leaving marks on her thighs.

Her nappies go really far up her tummy now but have too so they fit her legs 🤣

Don't worry about the weight on the pack size. Both DDs have never been in the 'proper' weight set for the nappies they're in.

My 8 week old is in size 4 pull ups 😅 he's 99centile though

Thanks, helpful. They nappy fits well around her legs, it's just the waist - for the nappy to fit snugly, each flap reaches the other side of her tummy!

If it's not leaking and baby's not uncomfortable, it's all good. Quite a lot depends on baby's shape - my two always seemed to fit a size long past the weight (and age) most people moved up.
