MAM Size 3 Teats or Size X Teats?

I want to move up from size 2.
however according to mums on TikTok’s, size X is better as it’s variflow whereas size 3 drowns their baby.
Is this true? Anyone on here transitioned up from size 2?

Just try it. No harm will come.

Every mum who has used MAM bottles (literally thousands - me included) have moved up through the stages without consulting tiktok.

Tiktokers live and die on viewing numbers and if they can make content on a hugely popular product and play on the anxiety of new mothers then bullseye, they're on to a winner.

I’m moved into size 3 and my LO (4 months) has managed fine. The first 1-2 feeds, he struggled. But by the 3rd feed, he’d got the hang of the faster flow. I also wondered about the x size too.

Buy both and try. Some babies take the bigger teats earlier, some later. You won’t know for sure. It took ages for my LO to move up teat sizes and he would choke and refuse the bottle until the other teat was put back on. He did eventually move up so no wastage.

So I tried Size X for a day, she absolutely hated them. Was choking etc.
I then tried Size 3, and she took to them better. Abit of spluttering as expected.
Not sure what the mothers of TikTok are talking about.

@lostwithyou is it the MAM teats they’re talking about? I know the tommee tippee ones (veri flow I think) are supposed to adjust to ‘any size’ as the baby controls how much liquid comes out and you can basically use them from 4m but the MAM X aren’t like that

edited to add that they’re marketed for thicker liquids from what I remember

Yes MAM teats, so on TikTok, the mums have been saying Teat 3s have been drowning their babies whereas Teat X are better as they are variflow. As I didn’t want to waste my money and hearing from actual mums, I thought I’d try it.

It isn’t true in fact. Size Xs, actually caused my baby to have a bottler aversion as she wasn’t happy taking the food but has been on Teat 3 fine so far.

I been late in transitioning my LO i went up size by size. But at 8 months i changed him over from size 3 to size X he took them fine. I know its advertised for thicker liquids but aptamil been fine for him. Thats with the anti colic bottle. With normal bottle he seems to have to swallow more faster and sometimes does need to take a breather. However doesnt refuse it therefore Ive stuck to X size teat.
