14 month old sleep regression

We did sleep training when our DS was around 12 months and it worked wonders. However that lasted around 6 weeks. Since he got poorly last month and learnt to walk it takes over an hour to get him to sleep each night at bed time and every night he wakes multiple times for 1.5-3 hours.

He stands and cries the moment we leave the room. We've tried patting and comforting but not picking up and leaving for a few mins at a time like our sleep training worked, and also picking up and cuddling but he just is wide awake. He has 1 nap a day average about an hour around lunchtime and is not cold or hungry.

Do we just have to ride out this regression or is there any tips our there to reset him to sleep how he used to? Getting desperate!

Have you given him nurofen before bed or in the night? Big teeth often come through around now and they're bloody painful. Might make a difference, even if he's awake for twenty mins while it kicks in.
