Reception child being targeted by one kid

DS is in reception and seems to have become a target of one specific child. At least once a fortnight (sometimes more) I am being grabbed at the door at pick up to inform me of an “incident” where this child has physically hurt DS.

Today I got a call to let me know that he has had another altercation and has been bitten again. This time it has broken the skin and is in a place where DS has clearly not seen him approach.

The class teacher has been lovely and has managed to keep him away in class, but the pattern is that these incidents are happening at lunch time when there is clearly inadequate/insufficient supervision.

I’m horrendous at formal situations and need a little bit of help formulating the questions to ask the head teacher next week when I go in for a chat. DS is no angel and can be a bit cheeky but he would never ever hurt another child on purpose and the upset of this other boy “getting” him is making him upset on school mornings.

Please help? Anyone?

I'd start off with asking what measures the school is planning to put in place to safeguard your child in the playground, since he clearly is unsafe currently. Make sure that you mention it is making DS upset about going to school.
