Potty training help? :(

Hey been potty training my daughter she’s 2 years and 8 months. First 2 days absolutely smashed it, only 1 accident, was doing poops & wees in there all by herself without me even needing to prompt her. I’ve been keeping her naked & giving her a chocolate and a sticker etc as a reward. It’s the 3rd day, she’s fine with her wees, but poops she will not go on potty, she tries for a bit and then gets bored and walks off. She’ll then poop on the middle of the floor & finds it amusing. She did it twice. I feel so deflated as I honestly thought we’d nailed it but it feels like we have gone backwards this afternoon. Any advice please? Thanks xx

Heya mine is 2 and 4 months and we are nearly there. Poos were a big problem for awhile, she did them in her pants 🤢🤢🤢 but we've finally turned a corner thus week.

Give her something to do on potty, reading a book or Colouring to keep her on it. DD now tells me she's not finished yet.

You're doing a great job, well done!

Am not succeeding in getting my DD poo in the toilet either. 🤦🏽‍♀️ it’s like she isn’t able to make her body poo but once I put her nappy on she happily poos.

We started in March at her instigation and decided to stick with it when she tried to go back to nappies.

Apparently the poo problem is quite common which is why we've persevered. We do tell her each time "poo goes in the potty".

The other thing that helped was a paw patrol child seat (goes on your own loo!) we got from Home Bargains - she sat on that for hours 😂

Oh DD likes stickers so we give her those and a plain piece of paper, another tactic to keep her on the potty!

If it's still up, there's an NHS app called "poo goes to poo land" that really helped,
