I have 2 children with my ex partner who stay with me 2 days a week I had let me ex partner know in January that I was on holiday at the end of May for a week meaning I wouldn’t have the children for one of the days, at the time this was ok as she was due a holiday with her new partner and the dates were discussed but her holiday didn’t happen, and now she is saying that I am abandoning my children , What should I do or say ?

Surely you had already arranged to have your children extra before / after so that they aren’t missing any time?

Hi yes I’ve had them extra days already as they are on holiday now and by the time there back I’ll be away on mine

Ignore her. Or raise an eyebrow and say, 'Really? I'm 'abandoning' them because I gave you warning in January about a holiday I had booked? And I've had extra days with them in exchange. A bit over the top, Mandy'.

She's just looking for a reaction. I'd be giving her my bored face.
