My ds is 4 and a half and didn’t really start talking until 4. He’s doing really well but is still so far behind and not conversational, I can’t ask him what he did at nursery for example. When did your child catch up and become conversational?

Bumping for you as I've got a 2 and a half year old who has no words at all and I'd be interested

Mine took about a year - she started talking at 3.5. Her pre-school headmistress said she technically ought to be referred for speech and language help, but she'd seen this before and she had a feeling dd would catch up, which she did.

Started talking at 3 and was fully caught up by 4 ½ as far as I remember- he was definitely very chatty by 5 - maybe struggled with the letter v? But that soon came good with work/ practice
