Which tog for a toddler duvet?

Almost 3 year old is being moved into a normal bed and this is the first time she will have a duvet. Which tog duvet should I be going for at this time of year? Room temp is about 20 most nights, and a bit warmer after a warm day. I have a 4 tog one and a 1 tog one to choose from.

More generally what bedding do you use for your toddlers and preschoolers? Just a duvet or a top sheet as well?

4tog is the maximum recommended for that age. We don't use top sheets

We have a 2 tog duvet at the moment but tbh he tends to kick it off and wriggle about anyway so he's basically sleeping in his pjs and a vest. Whenever I've felt him he feels warm never cold. They run hot in their sleep which is why a 4 tog is the max you should use. It's a weird one to get your head around considering we use 10 togs as adults in winter.

Thanks for the advice! I was wondering if 4 tog would even be too warm for this time of year. I guess we can try and see. At the moment she is sleeping in PJs and a sleepsuit which is rated 1.5 tog so 4 tog sounds much heavier but I guess a duvet is different to a sleepsuit.

My 2 year old would be melting under a 4 tog, she does sleep hot but I would go for the lesser tog personally. You can always add a blanket
