For the party of a child you don’t know at all. What gifts have you had which have been particularly appreciated?

How have you been invited to a party of a child you don’t know at all? I assume you must have the parents’ contact details. Just ask them. I’d say probably a third of parents (most I know well), ask me what they are into at the moment when they RSVP.

Thank you. Children are at school together but in parallel classes. I don’t do the school run myself so I’m afraid he’s just a name to me.

Art and craft supplies, Lego, any sort of game from Smyth's to be honest like shark bite, sink n sand. Kinetic sand sets.

I like it when people buy my kids craft stuff, it will definitely get used and then it's not another thing hanging around my house! X

Lego
Crayons
Glittery pens
Glowing stickers
Kinetic sand sets are AMAZING!
Also does your kid know this child well? Maybe some favorite characters or cartoons or something like that? If so, you can make a poster calendar with said characters or get something related to the them, like a set of stickers or a plushie, etc.

Craft sets are usually a winner. My DD got an ink marbling set from a birthday party at about that age, which she loved.
Another winner was, randomly, an assorted box of fidget toys. My DD got one for her (I think) 6th birthday, and loved it. We ended up doing the same for all subsequent birthdays for the next few months. About £7 off Amazon.

I'd also go with a craft set.

Definitely something that can be used up though and not plastic/toys. Or books.
