Newborn rolling on side in his sleep

FTM hoping to get some advice! My six day old baby still has the gorgeous newborn scrunch. It’s super cute but worries me at night as he ends up rolling onto his side. I have him in a Love to Dream swaddle over his pyjamas so his arms aren’t fully free. Anyone have any experience of this and if it’s safe? He never rolls onto his belly, just sort of lolls to the side.

I’d stop swaddling him so his arms are free, not sure if the advice has changed but I’m pretty certain swaddling isn’t recommended anyway

My children have always rolled to their side. I think becuase they are refluxing babies it’s more comfy. My daughter was in a love to dream swaddle, I just rolled her back every time I noticed her on her side. My son hated the swaddle up so he’s just had a blanket but as a second time mum I am much more relaxed, I put him back on his back if I notice he’s on his side but he just rolls anyways. They’ve never rolled on their stomachs until they could properly roll at which point you wouldn’t be swaddling anyways.

@ThatJoyousScroller Thanks that’s all helpful to know!

I would release her arms if she's a roller, other than that it's ok. Just use a normal swaddle with her arms out. I used to like those crossover velcro ones x
