10m old will only eat yoghurt

My DS is 10.5 months (9 months corrected). He’s never been a great eater, won’t let you spoon feed him. Also if he’s offered finger foods he’ll bite bits off but mostly spit them out.

He did go through a phase of eating bolognese, weetabix, more mashed foods if it was on a pre loaded spoon but he was unwell with a nasty cold and cough around 4 weeks ago and ever since all he will eat is yoghurt.

Tonight I offered him a blended tomato and vegetable pasta sauce on its own and he did eat some of it, plus his usual yoghurt. I’ve been sneaking ready break, chia seeds and flaxseed in to his yoghurt to try and get some iron etc down him.

I’m just a bit worried that it’s been 4 weeks of not eating properly with no signs of it improving.

He’s breastfed so is still getting nutrients that way but I’m starting back work the day after he turns 1 and I’m worried that he still won’t be eating much and will go hungry at the childminders without his milk. He won’t take a bottle and will only take the odd sip of expressed milk out his sippy cup.

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

I would say that can be quite typical at that age, the very small amounts of eating? A GP may be able to offer advice for any concerns?

I would just keep offering a big variety of things, doesn't have to be time consuming. Just save bits of your lunches or dinners that are suitable that can be mashed Or blended. Or share what you're eating, just give a little nibble and see what they make of the taste and texture.

Big hit with mine at that age was pea soup (fry half an onion, add chopped up preboiled potato, add peas. Cook and blend to a smooth sauce). Then I would use it as a sauce for pasta. Still a favourite now with my 20month old but I add salmon or chicken and mix on broccoli or cauliflower.

Also, mine ate SO much more variety once at childcare. They are magicians.
