What are the best toys you keep in the nappy bag (for outings)?
Got a 3.5yo and 1yo, so need to be compact!

Small retractable tape measure (soft one)
Small magnetic blocks or mini magnetic tiles
Couple of scleich figurines
Post it pad and pen

Hot wheels car, a bouncy ball and an unread magazine live in mine at all times. Went through a long phase of stretchy lizard fidget toy and magnetic drawing board, and have also done Sylvanian Families figurines and water painting books. But that's all for older than age 1, don't think we brought anything other than a cuddly toy at that age.

For the 3.5 year old, we cycle through things like sticker book, small colouring pad and crayons, magic water colouring, book to read, couple of small cars or plastic animals. Depending on where we're going, we also have some putty that's been fine on an airplane, train with a table, etc., cheap secondhand jigsaw where no one will be too bothered if we lose a piece.

At just turned 1, lift-the-flap books were probably our biggest hit, although DD2 also liked a toy car. By 18 months, colouring (scribbling), stickers, and the plastic animals started coming in.
