My child gets upset when going to school

Hi, can anyone help ? My daughter for the last 3 months gets extremely upset when leaving me to go to school, not only with me she’s like it with other family members too. I’ve been speaking with the school and they are supporting me but nothing is really helping. I just don’t really know what else to do and if anyone else has experienced this ? She is fine all morning, having a laugh getting ready for the day but as soon as i get her to the school gates she cry’s but then settles quickly once she’s in her class. I’ve tried all the tricks to help that I can think of but was wondering if anyone can help. Thanks

Both my children went through this. How old is she? My daughter struggled up until the end of year 5. She found it really hard to leave me and felt ‘scared’. What helped was walking to school alone so not hugely helpful for younger children.

My son was like this is reception and year 1. He wanted to stay home with me. It was having a good relationship with his teachers that helped. Occasionally if he wobbles they distract him by asking him to do a job.
