9 month old refusing bottles?

Evening,

My (nearly) 9 month old baby eats food SO well. We naturally took the path of BLW because he refuses to be spoon fed. Since starting weaning, he cut down the amount of formula he took, which we expected. However now, he refuses pretty much any bottle we offer, taking around 7-10oz a day only. I am 100% confident that he is full from food and we have a very good , balanced diet and I give him vitamins so I’m not concerned as such, but I am worried about his fluid intake.

I read that a baby of this age should be drinking like 25-30oz a day of milk/fluid and while he does drink water, there’s no way he will drink that much. We do eat soups/meals with water etc too.

please no mom shaming- I’m really trying my best. But I just need advice about how much water they really need at this age and how big a deal it is that he’s refusing his bottles?

thank you x

Hi OP. I was also told this at my LOs one year health check. But, like you, she was a great eater and was quickly losing interest in her bottles. A friend who is a PHN (Irish version of HV) advised as long as you're getting about 10oz of formula in you're doing fine! What's your routine around food and bottles?

My child never had a bottle. She used a sippy cup. Have you tried that? Frankly if baby is happy and growing then they are doing fine.
