Can’t cope today

My toddlers are just relentless. One stops whinging, the other one starts. Dd2 not having her nap so she is overtired now, dd1 currently eating pasta so I’ve had a moment to write this while I’ve got 10 mins.
Had barely any sleep, due on and the kids seem to sense it !! Send help.
Dh seriously thinks he has it harder because he has a physical job, I’m not saying he doesn’t work hard but he can sit down, eat his lunch, have a cup of tea, scroll through his phone, THINK, all these things I cannot do!!! I don’t have a moment to myself.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough day - we all have them and it's OK to feel really irritated with it all! The situation might just call for a big dose of screen time, there's nothing to feel guilty about there if it takes you out of feeling like you can't cope.

Comparing workloads with your DH really isn't going to help though. If you feel underappreciated or undervalued in terms of what you're doing then that's a conversation you need to have with him, but this stage is so much easier when you feel like you're in a team with your partner's rather than in competition with them.

Take them outside. Tired one in pushchair, bored one walking. You will still be exhausted but it will be worth it. Don't try to get any errands or shopping done, just consider it therapy for everyone. Is the bored one old enough to spot blue doors, or lamp posts or red cars, for example? Half an hour might turn things round. I remember those days and the desperation to close my eyes.
