Birthday parties for summer babies

Dd is in Reception and is desperate to have a birthday party like her friends.
Her birthday is mid August so right in the middle of the summer holidays.
Have people in this situation found it better to have the party in July before the schools finish?

My sister is an August baby and we always used to have her proper birthday parties before school broke up because everybody has their own trips/plans booked for the 6 weeks, then she’d have a celebration with her family on her actual birthday x

I have two August babies (now teens) and always had their parties in August and was surprised how many of their friends came. Maybe a couple were on holiday but not all by any means.

Our daughter has a late August birthday. We did her party mid September and will do that again this year. Personally I felt 6 weeks early was a bit too early for her party.

We did (do) our late August son’s parties in July before term ended. We live in a multicultural area and many of his friends would spend all the long summer holiday abroad with extended family and so many were unable to attend during August. He lives having 2 celebrations as of course we celebrate on the day as a family too

We have a few friends who are august babies. They just have parties through the summer as normal. Sent invites out before they break up. There is always good turn out.
We have alot of birthday in Sept though so it would be a struggle for them to get them in without clashing with someone elses.

I am in the same situation and unsure what we will do…we did a party for DD last year. Invited 20 from nursery, received 3 RSVPs and only 1 of those turned up…luckily we managed to invite as many children as we could think of to bulk out the party but it was still a very poor turnout. It does make me nervous about organising another party this year but I’m hoping the turnout will be better now she’s in school…

Both mine are august born. Still at primary. We’ve always done parties in September.

We used to have a family thing in August and then a party in February. He used to love having two birthdays like the Queen.
