emma mattress Off Gassing newborn

I have an Emma mattress arriving tomorrow but am very concerned about the off gassing smell as I have a 9-week-old baby and live in quite a small flat.
Does anyone have any experience with this or know the safety guidelines for newborns and the Off Gassing smell?

Does your baby sleep on that mattress?
Usually airing it out for a few days is fine, I haven't had the mattress smell permeate other areas of the house when I've had a new one.
I wouldn't want to sleep on it straight away though personally, but that's more to do with sensitivity to smell than feeling that it was dangerous.
If in doubt I'd ask the company about their recommendations around it or your health visitor for advice.
