Did anyone experience changes in your child's behaviour at 8?

My son is just shy of 8.5 years. I say this with a lot of love in my heart, but he's always been abit lazy/mood (🙈), but that has really amplified since the start of this year. He doesn't want to play on the sparks anymore, he doesn't want to go to the water fountains, not interested in soft play. He'd be quite had just sitting at home on his PlayStation or iPad 🙈
He's started talking like a teenager... everything's "boring" or "ugly" and he definitely doesn't care about anything 🙈.
He's basically like t a little teenager..... but he's 8!

Did anyone else go through this at 8? Is there another end of the tunnel before we do actually hit teenager years 😨

Just remove the PlayStation and iPad.
Get him involved in real life activities.

Hey, I didn't say he's not involved in real life activities did I? He does plenty, he just can't be bothered and winges about them all no matter how much effort I put into them being exciting!

My 7yo has turned a bit like this, it's so frustrating. Moans about going anywhere, but then if staying at home wants occupying 24 7, and says no to most activities 🤷😭 again would be happy sitting on a screen and sometimes I do give in more than I should tbh but I know I need to be more firm.

Soft play at 8 is a bit young. Have you tried taken him trampolining instead? I think you need to look at some new activities possibly. Have you asked him what he would like to do. I have a son the same age, and he loves playing basketball for example. He also loves helping dh wash the car.

I do agree though that they seem to change at this age, and moan more definately. I find once my dc is out doing the activities he is fine.
