Child cookbook recommendations?

Hey everyone, so my 6yo really loves cooking, and is always asking to make stuff. The children’s cookbooks we have appear to be like 90% baking cakes and desserts…

Does anyone have a cookbook recommendation that might also include salads, light lunches, savoury snacks, that kind of thing?

Thank you!

We have this one which seems to be out of print but it’s really good so worth getting second hand.

My two love it, it’s got fun pictures, really good recipes for soups and salads and nice drinks, savoury tarts etc as well as fruit pies and some other sweet things. We are veggie but it’s not peddling an ideology, just a love of fruit and veg and eating the rainbow.

I grew up on the 80s version of this Usborne one - it’s fab

I had a flick through Buddy Oliver’s cookbook in a shop recently, looks good and I might get it for my 12 year old boy.

Was just coming on to recommend the Usborne one but pp beat me to it! I grew up on it too, and the spag bol recipe is the basis of the one I make to this day! Along with the bacon and potato hotpot. Really easy to follow, and the recipes are tasty and generally things children will enjoy.

I had a small cookbook from be-ro flour. You just go on their website and order one. Most of it is baking sweets and a little bit of savoury. But it teaches you how to cook basic things like pastry etc. Its great for beginners

I would have a look in your local library. Ours has an entire shelf of children’s cookbooks. I can’t imagine you wouldn’t find something interesting in there.
