Help with formula fed baby

Hi I have an 8 week old baby. At his 6 week check with HV he had dropped from just under 91st centile to just above 50th centile. About to be checked again at 9 weeks and think he will have dropped under 50th centile. (Checked on other scales after a week). He put on 200g in 8 days. I initially believed the drop in his weight was due to having bronchiolitis and bad feeding for a week or 2 as his breathing was a struggle. Baby seems to be back to full health if not a little congested still. Baby is nowhere near catching up to 75th centile which I’d hoped would happen in 2 weeks (don’t know if this is realistic?) Baby is formula fed and has roughly his 150mls per kg of his weight a day. I struggle to get any more formula into him and feeds are difficult. He sometimes takes as much as 180ml and other times as little as 50ml. He often pulls a face at the bottle like he doesn’t want the food and sometimes becomes very upset. We do paced feeding technique and burping during feeding. I’ve tried different bottle teats, leaving different hourly 2-4hr gaps before offering milk and not sure what else to try to get him to take more or even if that’s what I should be trying to do. He is a very content baby and sleeps well at night and takes naps in day. Advice welcome!!

Try not to worry too much babies are naturally equipped to let you know when they are hungry that is why they recommended on demand feeding. As you say if he is content that is a really good sign. At least with the bottle feeding you know what he is having. If still worried just have another chat with HV again next time.
