Sunken fontanelle - dehydration?

My LO is 12 weeks and she seems to have a sunked fontanelle on and off. I’ve searched online and it says it’s a sign of dehydration, but she is feeding well, doesn’t have sunken eyes, has lots of wet nappies, is gaining weight and her wee is clear not concentrated.

Has anyone else noticed a sunked fontanelle on their LO?

Side note: she doesn’t have any tears yet, again I know this can be caused by dehydration, but wondering if they just haven’t come through yet.

Thank you!

My DS was the same - I ended up rushing to the minor injuries unit one afternoon as I was so worried it was something wrong with his physiology or, like you've said, he was horrendously dehydrated! He also ate really well (although exclusively bf so hard to now amounts but definitely didn't hold back as he was a big baby and never really lost weight!)

But turns out he was just a bit like that as a very small baby and rapidly grew out of it... he's 13 now and his head is beautifully round 😁
