Heating on or off when toddler has cough?

I never know what is best, heating on or off when it comes to coughs? My ds currently has a very tickly cough which is affecting his sleep. I always feel like I never know what's best when it comes to heating/humidity in bedrooms. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Heating always off at night time

Whatever keeps it a comfortable temperature at night. If we had the heating on during the night, I wouldn’t be able to sleep, it would be boiling. Generally, humidity is more important, so run a humidifier if you have one. Otherwise, a steamy shower before bed and have a drink of water handy.

Window open. Ds has asthma and this helps..

I'd go for hot water bottle in the bed and window open.
