Formula fed to breastfed - change in nappies

Hi all. We’re transitioning from mostly formula to mostly breastfeeding. We’re on less than 100ml formula a day now.

The concerning thing is that dirty nappies have gone from 1-2 a day to just 2 this week! And the most recent one last night was quite small. We’ve chatted to the HV and she wasn’t worried as baby is otherwise well. She thinks a poonami is around the corner. 😅

Just wondering what is the norm for mostly breastfed babies? And is anyone else going through this?

It's a while since mine were babies, but I was always led to believe that breastfed babies poo less because breast milk is really easy to digest, so less waste to come out.

Completely normal! How old is your baby? For ages DD only pooed every 7 or 8 days. There’s much less in breast milk the body needs to get rid of. If you’re getting enough wet nappies I’m sure it’s all exactly as it should be.

once every few days is considered normal but if your worried give gripe water. It helps get things moving
