Parent preference toddler

Toddler has just turned 2 this week and 30 weeks pregnant. I am finding my toddler having significant parent preference to me. He wants me in the bath with him, doesnt want daddy to do bedtime, if he wakes in the night my husband tries to help settle him but he cries and says “want mummy”

I truly dont mind but being so pregnant and uncomfortable I am finding it quite difficult.

any tips please?

No tips I’m afraid, just solidarity. Mine was the same for ages. However, now at 3.5 he says “daddy is for the daytime, mummy is for the night”. Which at least lets me off the hook in the day so I can have some peace, but unfortunately means I’m on bedtime duty every night. Saving grace is that he mostly sleeps through now so it’s not so bad. Hang in there, he’ll loosen those apron strings eventually!

Oh, one tip I suppose is to just keep trying. We used to say “mummy just needs 5 minutes”. And I would leave the room. He kicked off for a long time but it gradually got better and now is at the point where, if he wants to play crazy games with daddy or have daddy help him with something, he’ll actually tell me to go and have my 5 minutes!
