Tips for transitioning from co-sleeping?

Baby is 7 weeks old and we’ve been co-sleeping as she doesn’t seem to like her next-to-me crib..I think it feels too big and empty to her, she sleeps perfectly in bed.

I was planning to try the next-to-me again when she’s a bit bigger around 3 months old, but now i’m slightly worried that i’ve “spoiled” her and she’ll want to co-sleep forever!

Has anyone co-slept and transitioned out of it? what age and how did it go? Any tips appreciated!

I’ve had three co-sleepers transition to their own beds and significantly older. DD1 went to her own room from co-sleeping at 6mo, DD2 at around 8mo and DS at around 6mo. It was a couple of days of fairly frequent get ups to resettle but they all transitioned really well.

SleepyMoonBabe on instagram is currently journaling her journey to getting her little one to have some cot naps so may be an account to follow.

Alternatively Cosleepy and HappyCosleeper are both accounts that share info on co sleeping, safety and benefits etc

I coslept til around 6 months with both of mine then transitioned when they were old enough to move into their own rooms. We used a ssh-Pat/gradual retreat method then.
