My little girl is 9 months old she’s had a rag nail and it looked infected brought her to doctor and they said keep it clean not to worry about, it’s swollen abit and she won’t let me touch it at all. Any advice? I don’t know if I’m being a paranoid ftm

I would do exactly as they say and keep it clean and let it heal. They would offer oral antibiotics if there were obvious signs of systemic infection and from your photo, it looks very local to the nail. But if it gets worse in a few days, just take her back.

I’ve had the same happen to me - keep it clean, it may well eventually turn green (!), but at some point a gentle squeeze will let the pus out and then you can clean it up.
