Postnatal depression starting 8 months in?

Why would this happen now? I was doing so well and felt so on top of everything. Is it usual for it to happen so late on after the baby was born? Everything feels like such an effort. Making dinner genuinely insurmountable.

We recently moved house and I don’t know if it’s the stress of it all and having the 2 babies under 3 that’s triggered it.

Anyone else experience this, and when did you start to feel better?

Yes I experienced it around 5 months in. I went to the docs and they prescribed me mirtazapine, it was a game changer. Totally took me out of the funk I was in.
What also helped me was I stopped telling myself “I shouldn’t feel like this”, and started relaxing with it, so when going to sleep I’d say to myself “it’s actually okay to feel this way” and that helped because sometimes I think things feel worse because of how you react to it, as well as what it is, if that makes sense!?

Also mama, give yourself some credit, 2 under 3, you’re doing amazing! You should be very proud of yourself for getting this far, 2 pregnancies and births done! In a year or 2 you will be proud of yourself for getting through a very difficult time!
