17 month old still not walking - help!

Looking for some advice, I have contacted my health visitor already who are possibly the most unhelpful people unfortunately!

My 17 month old DD still isn’t a walking or standing independently, the health visitor believe it is a confidence issue so will not help.
She can pull herself up on furniture, cruise on furniture and walk if she is holding our hands/ with a walker but will not entertain standing unaided or steps unaided. She seems to bend her knees or arches her back backwards so cannot get her balance. She has made little / no progress in this since Christmas and now just gets upset when we encourage it which is the only piece of advice the HV could give. Has anyone else had a toddler like this or any advice? I feel like a parenting failure as nothing is working so I am worried that she needs some additional help

She will walk when she's ready, this is all within the realms of normal development.

Your LO has loads and loads of time and I am sure it will just happen all of a sudden. My little daughter wasn’t crawling and I went to the HV who gave me an appointment for a physio in three months but by then she was completely flying it. I did come across a woman on Instagram called all kids are perfect and she had lots of exercises and stretches that I was able to do with her and made me feel like I was doing something to help while I waited for the appointment did I ended up not needing at all!

Dd walked at just before 17mnths. She never really cruised or crawled. Wouldnt put her feet on the floor. Just got up one day and wandered off.

All 3 of mine didn’t walk till 17-18 months. They all walk perfectly normally now and my middle child even won ‘best athlete’ at his nursery graduation 😂
try not to worry too much, they’ll get there in the end. If you’re still very worried at 18-19 months, I’d take them to the gp.
