Recommendations please - which nappies for a long baby?

Hi all,

I have absolutely tons of cloth nappies for my son, but he's turning out to be a very long baby and at 21 weeks I can see that his Bumgenius and One Life onesize nappies are NOT going to fit him until he's potty trained. His Bumgenius are already unpoppered to their full rise and fit him perfectly, so no room for growth, and the One Life's whilst still on the tightest waist setting (seems to have a slim waist) are almost perfect in the rise, so little room for growth. I didn't expect this, especially at 5 months old !! I have terries, shaped and other pockets, but would really appreciate any tips on nappies that are particularly good on long babies, chunky thighs with slim waists! .

Thanks in advance!

Just looked up some reviews on Bambinex - it would seem that they only last 2-3 hours, so I need to add to my requirements: highly absorbent, lasting around 4 hours!!

I have 2long kids. my son has been in a tots bots size 2 (16" rise)since 2 weeks so think I will have the same problem as you as he is imminently goping to grow out of them

Pockets: Wahmies one size has a really good insert and a long rise for a one size.
Fuzzi bunz Petite toddler-has long rise but not too baggy round and you can obviously stuff it as you need.

Nature babies stuff is generally very good, quite long. their wraps are good for long babies.

There are a few american brands that do long nappies. Monkey Doodlez being one they do a Medium Long size in all their nappies with an 18" rise.

I was always recommended bumbles for my very long dd. They're fantastic.

Oh and Green acre designs do a pocket nappy in a long Medium which has an 18" rise.

My DS is long (90th centile) & I use prefolds - you fold them to suit & accommodate all body shapes/lengths.

My son was on the unopened bg popper at 9 months and i was a bit at them going till potty time but as he has grew in different ways he is now 18 months and is still in them - you may be suprised. That said the happy heiny onesize has the longest rise of all my pockets and would probs go to his armpits with sufficient tugging lol!

The new flexitot which flame and i will have in stock in a few weeks is also generous in the rise i find and very ermmm flexible hence flexi...

DS was (still is) a 75th centile baby, with skinny waist, etc.

I had absolutely no problems at all with Sainsburys' own brand - both the conventional nappies, and the pull-ups when he got older.

No leakage, and a great price. It's worth a try.
