Am doing a part-time MA and getting very frustrated by the length of time it takes to get assignments back - average 6-8 weeks. It's usually too late to take comments into account for the next assignment and is dampening my motivation quite significantly! Just interested in hearing other people's experiences - this isn't a distance learning course either

i got kicked off to!

thats along the lines of what my e-mail to the tutor was asking just have to wait for her to get back to me. although i dont hold much hope of getting an answer that makes sense from her. i sent her an email before when writing an assignment asking if i should use the foundation stage profile, or the eyfs as guidelines and her reply was yes thats great!

Well if you dont want to work in a school surly it makes sence to get experience in a setting simmilar to one you would want to?

have you got your assignment back yet thirtysomething? I'm still waiting for mine and it's driving me mad now.

yes, I got mine back but it took 8 weeks! It seems like a seriously long time given that we're expected to do the next one without any feedback. Not sure what i can do about it though! What course are you doing clutteredup?

dylan it would make sense. i have managed to find a little more about the placement by searching on the uni website.
from wwhat i have read the placement needs to have an element of special needs as the module is focussing on Special needs, although from what i've read it not just the autism etc that immediately springs to mind- its also gfactors such as bereavement and poverty.
i'm gonna try and get a tutor to talk to me after my exam next week. as reading this i think if i can get a placement in a children's cntre (which is what interests me most) to make sure i've read it right then i can get it sorted to start by september

dylanthecat · 15/05/2008 21:23

most nurserys would have some element of special needs then. I was ment to be working on my next assignment and i just cant be bothered I cleaned the house after work and now Im too tiered

dylsmum1998 · 15/05/2008 21:38

dylanthecat · 15/05/2008 21:59

as long as you rember to log it for your ppd file!

dylsmum1998 · 16/05/2008 07:40

lol -good idea! can tie in quite nicely with the potential for poverty etc

dylanthecat · 16/05/2008 16:31

I cant belive Ive just finnished my ppd file and now I have to start a new one! Im really going to keep it up to date this time!

Im working on my CV ive decided its time for a change. Well really I just want an excuse to put off my assignment because Ive lost my motivation. Ill just get on with it! Ill be ok once I really get going!

clutteredup · 16/05/2008 16:57

thirtysomething I'm doing an MEd in maths. i'm doing it very part time - ie it wll take me 5 years but as i have been discussing on another thread I'm not going anywhere as i can't aford to go back to work wirth 3 DC. I've just worked out i have only actually been waiting 3 weeks for mine which in the grand scheme of things isn't that long really, its just it seems so long when I've got nothing more interesting to think about in the meantime!
