how to protect baby from sun in swimming pool?

We are going on holiday to the south of France with our 11month old DS, and will be outside a lot, including swimming. Does anyone have any tips or product recommendations for what to wear in the pool to protect him from sunburn?
I've seen the all in one UV suits which look great for the beach/garden but i'm not sure you're supposed to wear them in the water?

You can wear the suits in the water and they do work as can see how brown their hands/feet get even after covering in cream! You can also get UV hats which are great as they dry out quicker than normal hats.
