Could this leave a scar?

DS was grabbed by another child in his class today. The wound was bleeding initially but stopped after being cleaned by staff.

I'm probably over thinking it, but do these marks look like they could leave a permanent scar?

A similar thing happened to my sister when she was the same age, leaving her with a scar on her face which is still visible now 25+ years later.

Any recommendations for a good prevention cream that can be used on a child's face?

I did include a photo but it didn't attach to my original post.

Poor mite! I hope the school are dealing with the other child properly.

I wouldn't have thought that would scar but you could try this

Vitamin E oil or BioOil

I would say it's too shallow to scar, but let it heal properly before applying any sort of healing balm, gel or Vit E cream.

It doesn't look like it will scar to me!

mindutopia · 18/03/2025 08:14

No, I don’t think that would leave a scar.

No - that won't leave a scar.

My DD fell flat on her face on a road (age around 2) and was covered in cuts Sad to her face - and all healed quickly.

No, it won't leave a scar.

My dd fell off a chair at the nursery and hit her cheek at the edge of a bookshelf. We had to take her to the a&e as we thought she might need stitches. Even that very deep scar seems to dissappear now (after about 12 months).

Babies/kids skin is amazing! They heal very fast!

My daughter hit her head on a coffee table at 11mo. It barely even bled. There was just one tiny drop of blood. Unfortunately 4 years later there is still a scar.

Medihoney is amazing. Recommended to us by a friend's mum who is a wound care specialist and that's what they use in hospital. You can buy on Amazon.
