Hi

can anyone recommend a day out anywhere in SE England / London for a small Dinosaur fan (age 6). Thanks

There is Roarr near Norwich. You could make a weekend of it and do Bewilderwood the following day too.

Dinotropolis - Bluewater
Mr Mulligans Dino crazy golf - Sidcup

Oxford's Natural History Museum - displays send small dino lovers into frenzies of delight, there are free trails and activities (especially during school holidays), there are tactile/sensory displays, it's big enough for a good explore but not massive, there's a cafe on site, but it's also very close to the University parks if they need somewhere to let off steam before/after visiting. If you're visiting for the day/part of a day it's really easy to get to via any of the Park & Rides as long as you can manage a short walk.

If staying in the city for the day or longer there's also the Story Museum which is completely set up for young children, and all of the University museums (History of Science, Ashmolean, and Pitt Rivers) are free to enter and offer family activity trails to help entertain kids. There are open top bus tours as well but they're a bit pricey, especially in a small city like Oxford.
