Toddler itchy nappy

DS who's nearly 3. At night time he's incredibly itchy down there. Contains of "itchy nappy" and when I take it off is visibly frantically itching - the front area. Not every night but the past week it's been say 3 nights out of the 7.

I've checked and I can't see anything. It's a little red but that's it. I've checked every nappy and can't see anything - obviously I immediately thought of worms.

I have smothered him in sudocrem and he's finally settled and fallen asleep.

Should I treat for worms anyway? It's never the back, only ever the front area. I've tried a few brands of nappy - all the same.

Could it be anything else?

Does he have no nappy during the day? Only thing I can think is my DS willy is a lot more sensitive than that of the girls in the family! Any time he has too much juice, fruit shoot etc, he gets such a sore willy he can't stand the feel of a nappy touching it ! Poor thing gets really irritated and sore. We've gone water only due to it x

Also each night I have put sudocrem on him he seems to then settle and sleeps through until morning. His bed is in our room at the moment (he's going through a bit of a I don't want to sleep in my room phase and it's the best way we get any sleep) and he's out like a light after.

His bottom is absolutely clear - no rash. No rash at the front either but he is scratching like crazy until I apply sudocrem then he seems to settle...

He is still in nappies during the day but thats interesting as he has been having a lot more juice recently... I may just give him water tomorrow and see if its any different.

I never believed it was solely down to juice when my mam first suggested it, but since we've gone water or milk only, it's never happened again! Fingers crossed for you x

Are they pampers? They always irritated my kids. Maybe try pull-ups instead of nappies, they might not be fitting comfortably anymore.

Not pampers no. I've tried a few different brands and seems to be the same.

Will give pull ups a go though.

Hi! Did you find the culprit/a solution? We are having the exact same issue and can’t figure out why. Heeeelp!

Hey!

Well.... not really...! We cut back on his squash and watered it down a bit more. We also just kept applying sudocrem

It lasted about a week and a half and now he seems fine

I'm not sure if the squash helped but it vould well of been that
