Missing permanent teeth

Hi, my 6.5yr old ds had an xray at the dentist today. They couldn’t see any top 4 front permanent teeth and said possibly his front bottom teeth might not be developing properly. Has anyone else experienced this? My wee boy has been feeling very aware as he’s apparently the only one in his class who hasn’t lost a baby tooth yet. I’ve been feeling so upset thinking about the challenges he will face because of this. His top front baby teeth have previously had a bit of decay from when he was smaller, so the guilt I’ve felt about that over the years is just overwhelming now. I’d been looking forward to them falling out 😭. Thanks for any advice or reassurance

I've thought the same about baby teeth, a so you're not alone there. You didn't know what you didn't know, you're not to blame for that, no one expects to be told their kid doesn't have all their adult teeth. Have they said what treatment he needs? Have they said why he has this? Most commonly genetic unless he had cancer treatment or an illness at the wrong stage.
