SNOO Smart cot "sacks"

Hi all
First time posting and will be new parents in the coming couple of months. We are lucky enough that a family member wants to get us a SNOO smart sleeper/cot for the new arrival which is great but have a question for anyone who already has one. Apparently the cot comes with 3 of the Snoo sacks, now since you cant use the smart features without a sack i was wondering if i should buy more to have on hand? Honestly no idea if they will be needed or not but wanted some advice.

I used regular baby sleeping bags and never needed more than two in a single day. I think it's unlikely that you would use the Snoo for every nap - the baby is going to fall asleep on top of you in the day a LOT, especially at the beginning. So you shouldn't get through more than three sleeping bags, even if you get through a lot of changes of other clothes.

Fyi - my record for most baby colours changes was give outfits in a day & that was actually when the baby was a little bit bigger!

@OtterMummy2024 thanks so much! so i think ill stay with the 3 provided and hopefully wont need more. Out of curiosity how did you find the Snoo ? Reading reviews is interesting - seems that you either love it or hate it...

I don't have a Snoo unfortunately, just a Snuzpod with regular sleeping bags. It seems like a great idea, my baby would only sleep swaddled when a newborn.

They are verrrrrry expensive, I wonder if your very generous family member would be willing to spend the money on other things instead that might last longer / be more useful?

If you must have it then rent it first to check whether it’s worth it!

My babe hated these mechanical type movement machines. He just knew when he wasn’t held.

All the features are easily replicated with other more useful stuff.

If they do like vibration a £20 rockit will be more useful and can move it around to pram, cot or seat.

The sleep tracking use an owlet sock as also more helpful. Will cover day naps, naps on move or in car and also monitoring whether babe is breathing and alive.

The white noise. £20 Tomme tippee dream light does the pulsing red womb light and white noise automatically if it hears a sound. Also great as it’s an automatic light for seeing at night to breastfeed or bottle.

It's three in different sizes, so you do need more. Try to have at least a couple in each size

I know they are insanely expensive and I would never buy one myself but also since they want to buy I won't say no...

Thanks to everyone here for your inputs - really appreciate it and I'm sure it won't be that long before posting more questions ...

You can manage with only three (we did) but there were a few panicked moments - the SNOO will not work without the sack as it clips in and so if you get a huge vomit / milk spill etc you have a bit of a problem until it's clean and dry. This is mostly fine when they are tiny as we just used one of the bigger ones with no problem (still work ok when a bit large) but more of an issue when you get to the biggest size. So, I wouldn't worry for now and maybe only think about getting a spare large. They also have very regular sales on the site and it's pretty easy to find some second hand so I would keep an eye out for both. You are very lucky to be gifted one as they are incredibly expensive but I must say (for our baby) it did work really well and I'd prefer to spend the money on a good sleep each night than a fancy buggy! Hope you have the same experience Smile

This.

most get used very little as even if you use every day baby is out of it by 6months.

Snapchat give new parents (employees) one and most sell them. My friend sold hers and then bought a 2nd hand one and used the cash she saved to buy a yoyo which got wayyy more use 😅

3 parents I know also found the transfer out at 6m really stressful/ baby struggle in cot etc but with babies anything like snoo / dummies etc you have to pay the piper at some point so 🤷🏻‍♀️
