I breastfed my very hungry little boy up until this week when he had his last breast milk (milk has now almost totally dried up ) and is on Aptamil.

He seems to be struggling a little with constipation but I am not sure if he is actually constipated or if he just won't poop as much on formula as he did on breast milk.

He used to poop ALL the time and it was like yellow watery mustard (sorry if TMI) when he was on breastmilk with a bit of a mix making it more solid when he was mix fed.

Now he is on formula every feed his poop is like ready brek?!?! Sorry - i hope no one is eating this for brekkie as I type!!!

Is this right??? How often do they go when on formula full time. It used to be every change was a dirty nappy, now it is maybe every 3rd nappy...

Thanks for any advice

as long as the poo is not like hard round rabbit droppings then your lo is not constipated. The frequency of poos sounds normal although my ds ended up going 2-3 days between poos at that age on aptamil but when he went it was explosive and soft so he wasnt constipated. Formula can make poo all sorts of colours and textures - it can be yellow through to green and runny through to quite formed so anything between that is fine too.
