I’ve been lucky to make friends with a lovely group of mums during my mat leave and the babies will begin turning 1 soon. We’ve been invited to a few parties and I have no idea what to get the babies!

What sort of presents did you appreciate from friends for you LO’s first birthday? Something around a tenner would be ideal as there are a few babies to buy for!

My little boy turned 1 in February and he loves the "10 little Pirates/Penguins/Monkeys" etc book series.
He also loves flap books at the moment, like the Acorn Wood series.

Mega Bloks or Duplo should go down well and have some longevity in them. Or one of the Orchard Toys games or jigsaws that are suitable from 12/18 months.

I think board books and bath toys are always a good shout.

We did a secret Santa type for our baby group and this was what I was given and my DD loved it

The "that's not my" books are loved here from under 1 to age 3 and my 6 year old reads them still to my nearly 3 year old now. She always picks one each night!

A small jellycat toy always good

Easy jigsaws

Tomy eggs (but personally the bane of my life)

Have you seen the brand ‘wow toys’.

They do little character + vehicle sets for babies of this age for <£10.
