Hey everyone! My 5 month old (EBF) has reflux, and we will be starting solids soon when he is 6 months. Planning to do a mix of baby led weaning and purées.

Looking for a good oatmeal cereal that’s iron fortified, no added sugar/salt, and low in heavy metals. preferably something I can grab from Tesco, Boots, Sainsbury’s, etc.

Also, any tips for starting solids with a reflux baby? What first foods worked well for you?

Husband and I are first time parents with no support, literally have no one to ask for advice about anything so Would love to hear what you’re feeding your little ones. Thanks!

I just did plain oats and made porridge the old fashioned in a pan way to get it nice and mushy, did take a while though. Also tried ready brek for a smoother texture. Ready brek is basically just oats/oat flour and the fortifying vitamins.

No idea about the heavy metals bit though.

My eldest saw a dietician and she recommended ready brek as it's simple & fortified. Supermarket own brands typically exact same ingredients & half the price.

I blended up dry oats then cooked them into a porridge with full fat milk.
