Help, by DD just broke a snow globe in carpeted bedroom, should I be paranoid about harmful chemicals which went on her hands?

Isn't it just water inside them? maybe a bit of bleachy stuff to stop them going mouldy? I'd be more worried about broken glass but if you've cleared that up, I reckon you can move on to the next disaster!

TinyMouseTheatre · 26/02/2025 20:58

I'm assuming she's washed her hands?

Id be more concerned about the glitter you’ll find for years.

There is stuff in them to make sure it doesn't go mouldy? Just don't drink it

InSpainTheRain · 26/02/2025 21:07

It'll be fine. She just needs to wash her hands and make sure the glass is cleaned up.

Have you got any pets? As I think the stuff inside is poisonous to cats

WarmOliveSloth · 26/02/2025 21:14

Thanks all, no no pets. I did wash her hands but only after I had dealt with immediate need to clear glass and soak up water, so about 10 mins passed and she bites nails worried now she might have put hands in mouth .. I believe they put anti freeze in snow globes so that is why I’m worried

I see your logic regarding anti freeze but unless it's something you keep in the freezer normally, there's no actual snow in those things and it's not at a cold temperature, I think the snow is actually glitter or other plastic based particles.
I'm sure she'll be fine but you'd not be the first to worry about this kind of thing!
