How do you know is formula isn’t suiting baby?

Hi FTM here!

at a bit of a loss here, how do I know if formula isn’t suiting my LO anymore? He’s 6 weeks old and been on kendamil since he was born, however lately he’s really fussy while having a bottle, won’t finish it but is still hungry, very gassy, only has one poo a day - maybe every other day, spits up after most feeds and is just generally unsettled. He was fine the last couple of weeks but lately it just seems different! He’s a colicky baby and is naturally gassy but it seems so much worse, even when using infacol/dentinox!

any help or advice would be much appreciated as I know something isn’t right but I just don’t know what to do!

Have you tried going up a teat size? If the flow is too slow for him, it can make him more gassy as he’ll be taking in more air.

he’s on size one teats currently, I do have some size 2s but I thought he was too young for those as they’re recommended from 3 months+?

We had a similar issue with Aptamil. Lots of crying. Wanting a bottle but not wanting to eat it. We switched to Hipp and the difference was almost instant from bottle 1. He finished a 5oz bottle for the first time in weeks and he’s thriving on it. Been on it now for about 2.5 months. No more Infacol/colic drops needed.

Im a FTM too so didn’t take changing lightly but I just knew he wasn’t right or happy so that’s why I gave it a go - at that point I had nothing to lose. Hipp is said to be one of the gentlest on babies tummy and that’s what we have found
