Present that encourages solo activity

Hi guys

Not sure if this is best forum to post on.

I'd like to buy a present for a 9 year old that encourages them to be active, something that's fun solo as they often don't have playmates. Something suitable for garden or woods. Any great ideas?

Thanks

Do they have a bike?

How about some

Gardening tools? These are from Harrod Horticultural following a BBC Gardening link.

plus seeds, of course.

Or - some binoculars? With a birdwatching guide? If they become interested it could lead to joining a club - which would be an excellent source of company.

That's a good idea, especially when combined with the guide

In the 1970s I loved my swingball and would happily play on my own for ages. Depends on the child though.
