1 year old barely eats anything!

My (very nearly) 1 year old is a very picky eater. She mostly eats puree (but only a few curtains brands and flavours) and I've just managed to get her to start eating some melty puffs and toast with butter. That's literally it. I've tried mash, egg, pasta, lots of different shop bought jars of food that she will either gag and spit out or refuse to eat. Has anyone got any tips of food suggestions? I want to offer more finger food options. Also, anything that is quick and cheap to prepare please! I've already wasted lots of time, food and money 😩

My one year old is very picky. My first was a good eater, she will only eat

Toast (only with butter)
Boiled or scrambled egg
cheese
potato
baked beans
banana
chicken
mince beef
fish
cucumber sometimes

I have to sneak veg into casseroles or bolognaise. She won’t touch fruit apart from banana. Very wearing!

Just feed her what you are eating. Sit down at meals and eat with her, she probably won’t eat much and will play with it etc but at that age they don’t need huge amounts.

Sorry just to add. At that age mine loved homemade meatballs, fingers of melon, mango etc, berries, cereal like multigrain Cheerios that they could eat fry, weetabix, porridge, cheese on toast, veg fingers, peas, the odd fish finger, homemade pizza, bits of a roast dinner(especially Yorkshire puddings).

So yesterday DD ate

Breakfast - boiled egg and quarter of a slice of toast
snack - home made oat bar
lunch - cheese sandwich (ate about a quarter) veggie crisps and a banana
dinner - spaghetti bolognaise including tinned tomatoes, pepper, garlic, onion etc.

Plus milk. So she didn’t eat much but I console myself with the fact that what she did have was fairly healthy!

That makes me feel a little bit better! It's so tough, I want to enjoy her trying new foods but instead I just get stressed and worried

I think I'd take two different approaches. Firstly, bits of what you're eating, because that's easy for you – you're making pasta, pop a few pieces down for her to try, no big deal if it gets rejected. Secondly, foods that are close to her accepted foods, in hopes you can ever so gradually widen her range. If she likes carrot purée, perhaps try carrot soup, roasted or boiled carrot fingers, etc. (for whichever purées she likes). If she's getting on with regular toast, perhaps try toasted pitta or muffin, and so on.
