Teething help

10 month old is teething again, she's got 6 teeth already but the pain just seems to worsen with each tooth, she is constantly shouting, crying, screaming, grumpy and not sleeping during the night. I've tried all powders/gels/liquids. Is there anything anyone found a lifesaver that I wouldn't have thought of trying? I'm tired and need sleep

Have you tried nurofen? It’s the most effective IME because it’s also an anti inflammatory and it lasts 8 hours so better for overnight too. The powders are nonsense. They used to work because they contained alcohol (likely as recently as when you were a baby depending on your age) so baby would be soothed and off to sleep, basically in a drunken stupor. Since that’s gone they’re just a random collection of herbs and the best you can hope for is not to get an upset stomach. Don’t waste your money. The bonjela gel is good I think but wears off very quickly so wouldn’t be my go to for overnight. If it helps though, you’ve got the 1 year molars to comes and then you should get a whole year off from it until the last ones come at around 2.

I haven't tried nurofen actually, I have calpol earlier but found it useless, this makes sense I will give that a try thankyou so much!! Oh I didn't know that I kind of thought they just keep coming every few weeks haha I should really research into it shouldn't I

I second nurofen overnight. Anbesol (liquid or gel) is good, but you have to ask the pharmacist for it, I think. It won't get you through a whole night, but it's really fast acting, so good during the day, or for if they wake up with pain - can have them back asleep in minutes, well before the nurofen or Calpol kicks.
