Infacol at 10 months old?

My baby girl is 10 months old next week. Over the last couple weeks she has been so unsettled in the night time (shes always slept right through other than when she has been unwell or teething) .. Shes got 6 teeth through already and I think she has got another 1 or 2 trying to break through at the minute (all the teething signs are there) - this is making her cry a lot through the day and she most be holding onto a lot of gas which is also unsettling her in the night as she will scream until she is lying on her side and then she seems to be calm, she will squirm around a lot and these are all signs that shes got gas to me (I am a FTM) ..

She suffered really bad with colic and she has always had problems with releasing gas. She’s fine with burping but farting she seems to really struggle to pass???

I’m just asking for advice really and whether I should put her back on infacol for a short while?? Shes been on it before and it really did help bur I dont know whether it would be ok to put her back on it now??

please any advice would be really appreciated. I dont know whether I should be concerned at how much she struggles to pass gas, health visitor is currently off sick and I havent been given anyone else I can speak to and trying to get a GP appointment is basically impossible anymore

thank you x

If she was fine on it before then no harm in using it now - especially as she’s older. It really does give them relief.

Then when your HV is around you can get some further advice.

@RisingSunn Thank you so much! I’m definitely going to get her some in the morning, she doesnt seem to be able to settle to sleep lying on her back as well she just screams but is fine when shes lying on her side :( .. Do you think thats because of gas? Ive got really bad health anxiety with myself have suffered with it for ages so i panic even moreso with her!

It sounds like reflux not gas. If it's teething pain then give calpol when necessary. If she's been like this since birth I would suspect cmpa

Yes it does sound like reflux - as it worsens with being positioned on her back. Fortunately - Infacol is good for reflux too!

So OP try not to panic - I’m sure you’ll feel better as she becomes more comfortable.

@RisingSunn @Youcanttakeanelephantonthebus She is on antireflux milk and has been from about 6 weeks old. She did have reflux as she started on normal kendamil which is when we noticed the reflux, changed to cow & gate antireflux but was no good on that and now shes on Hipp Antireflux and has been from about 3 months old and shes been perfect on it up until the last week or so. Do youse think it could have stopped working on her or its the gas? Ive been giving her calpol especially before bed and have tried gripe water tonight as well but gripe water has never seemed to work🙈

thank you both so much x
