Hi everyone I seriously need some help my 2.5 year old is non verbal and has been diagnosed as autistic. Her meltdowns are extremely challenging she hits me over and over and I'm covered in bruises even if I walk away from her she comes at me and hits me more. I try redirecting her attention to something else like her favourite song favourite movie. But I can't snap her out of it. As she's non verbal I cannot reason with her.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to help her when she's having one?

She has a formal diagnosis, I am waiting on the speech therapist to try to help her talk. These melt downs are occurring more and more.
