Childcare funding helppppp

Hey! My daughter is due to start nursery next week, we will be getting the 15 free hours but will need to top this up with whatever is left to pay. I have put down that I get universal credit so won’t be getting the tax free childcare. Does anybody know when I need to add this payment to the childcare service account? As I don’t know how much extra it will be yet. Thank you

You'll need to have the money in the childcare account before the first payment is due. I used to do a standing order for a few days before the 1st (that's when fees were due) so that the payment was made on time.

Will they be going term time only or all year? If all year how is your nursery treating the funded hours? Some pro-rata the funded hours. The funded hours are term time only so August has no funded hours and September is pretty much all funded hours. Some nurseries will average it out so you pay the same each month. My daughters nursery charged for her days/hours used each month so we paid different amounts each month.
Usually you pay for on advance so payment for march would be by the end of Feb.
I don't know how the universal credit account compares to the child tax account but with the child tax account we would top up the account and by the next day the government top up would be added and we could set to be sent to the nursery the next working day.

You don’t add money to the tax free childcare account if you get Uc.
for Uc reimbursement you show what you actually paid and they reimburse 85% for the period covered.
so your bill will be x amount. Minus free hours = value to pay.

It's up to 85% not everyone gets the highest rate

@jannier 85% gets added as an element to your UC entitlement.
obv if your earnings are higher then you don’t receive the full amount.
