Due to the general progress and digitalisation, my son starts to get cranky when he doesn't have a smartphone. When he visits his grandmother, he spends a lot of time on his phone playing games and watching YouTube videos. But when we pick him up, we try to limit him from doing this to save his eyes, which are still forming, as he is only 3 years old.
But we face hysterical attacks when we refuse to give him the phone.
Please tell us what to do with this problem.

Detox then readjust expectations.
We limit screen time but still there are times where things slip and she gets more or she gets onto something that she's obsesses with. We have to be very strict with paw patrol as she never has enough and is difficult.
In these situations we restrict time and content further. It usually only takes a couple of days and the decide how much and what we permit.
